TODAY WE MARK 47 YEARS OF CERAMICA SOTELHA

Roofs made of sandwich tiles or profiled sheets have been gaining relevance and in some cases replacing roofs made with ceramic tiles.

The important thing is to choose the type of coverage that best suits your home and leave aside market trends.

It is with great pride that we are part of one of the sectors of the economy with a great tradition in the history and culture of Portugal  Since prehistoric times, man has tried to find strong and resistant coverings for his huts, in order to obtain protection against the less favorable climate.

Initially they used tree bark and leaves or even animal skins to protect their huts, but the discovery of the properties of clay combined with fire allowed Man to discover a more resistant and aesthetically valued material: ceramic tiles!

The intensive use of this material "painted" the roofs of southern Europe, which naturally includes Portugal, with cheerful colors. Even the use of ceramic tiles has been gaining relevance in other places such as northern Europe or North Africa.

In Portugal, the ceramic industry occupies a significant weight in the economy. The production of ceramic artefacts is part of the history and culture of this country. And Cerâmica Sotelha is one of the Cerâmicas ambassadors of this legacy of Portuguese culture. Since 1970, Sotelha has been producing ceramic tiles and accessories, "painting" national and international roofs with the bright colors and clay.

In a constant commitment to innovation and response to market needs, in the year in which we mark 47 years of production, we launched an innovative, high-quality tile that suits slats with different spacings.

47 years of production, a constant focus on innovation!  To mark Cerâmica Sotelha’s 47 years of production, we will present our new products soon at www.sotelha.pt.
